| Description: | The customer has a need to access a "Service Request" database from any workstation on the County's network. This can only be done effectively through an intranet server and the browser. Limited access will be extended to all users in order to request services. An administrative function is needed to allow service staff to log requests and solutions to the problems. Task included the development of the required applications and web pages necessary to provide browser access/update to the database. |
A prototype intranet application was developed that will allow employees of Okaloosa county to submit a service request. The county will have an intranet home page with a link to the service request site. From this link the users will be presented a standard form to enter their service request. A demo of what this site looks like is at the following URL:
Personnel in Systems and Networks Division of Okaloosa County will have access to an additional site that will enable them to log incoming service requests and record progress on the requests. A demo of what this site looks like is at the following URL:
The prototype Intranet Computer Services Application would allow users to post work requests on the Intranet. Service personnel can query requests and post service logs to a work request until it is closed. The purpose of the prototype is to implement the application quickly and provide a framework for gathering solid software requirements and specifications for future full scale development of web-enabled applications for Systems and Networks Division of Okaloosa County.
